The Pakistan Association of the Blind has a mission to provide quality education to school-going children who are deprived of this right simply because schools are not equipped to cater to their needs.
With education and basic literacy being nothing short of luxury in Pakistan, it’s even more difficult to educate children with special needs. More often than not, as a result of their visual impairment, these students have to discontinue their schooling, or are completely cut-off from schools that teach the blind.
We have worked to set up schools, train teachers and educators in Braille, providing tools and skills for these children to carry forward. The goal is for each child to be able to stand on their own and not just receive a quality education, but also to be able to use their knowledge and skills later in life.
We work closely with teachers and trainers, accommodating children of various ages to have a chance at an independent life. Our schools are set up to provide a high-quality, well-rounded education that will empower all our students in the long-run.
You can further our cause through monetary support or by volunteering to help at various events and schools across the country.
